Description:
Chicago: Frederick J. Drake and Co, 1901. Hardcover. Good. No further printings stated. Published by Drake but Copyrighted 1901 by Henneberry on the copyright page, so we are not sure if this is a reprint by Drake or if the former is just the printer. Pictorial cloth. 413pp. Illustrated with a few drawings. Sections on Diseases of the horse, cattle, and sheep. The covers have little spots throughout with some loss due to silverfish. This sounds terrible but the copy actually appears quite well to the eye. Cover edges with slight fraying - again sounds bad but is far better than it sounds. Text block in near fine condition with endpapers and hinges fine and sound. Original or early copies scarce.

Description:
Allen Lane / Penguin UK, 2015. UK edition. Hardcover. Very Good/Near Fine. Later impression. Cloth. 292pp. Signed (not to anyone) on title page by Rebanks. One of the best-written books I have ever read in terms of command of prose describing the author's external and internal landscape (the land and his mind and soul). Rebanks' first book on sustainable animal husbandry is set on his family's sheep farm in the beautiful Lake District of England. It is also a coming-of-age book tracing his growth as a sheep-raiser's son used to a lot of demanding work to an appreciation for that way of life to and advocate of intelligent decision-making with regard to land use in England. His second book, English Pastoral, just published, in combination with The Shepherd's Life, has really Rebanks on the map. This vg with minor bumps to cover corners and a tiny bit of wrinkling to the dj at a couple of points.
