As an essential nutrient, and the basis of the skeletal material of certain organisms, silicon occupies a dominant position in biogeochemistry; and this book draws together some of the more important aspects of this topic using a series of reviews. ___DESCRIPTION: Navy blue cloth binding, silver gilt lettering on the front and spine, plain endpapers, technical charts/graphs and some black and white photographs scattered throughout the text, Octavo size (approx. 9" high), pagination: (i)-x, 1-248. There is a glassine DJ present.

___CONDITION: Volume is in fine condition, with a strong, square text block, solid hinges, straight corners with absolutely no rubbing, the interior is clean and bright, and it is entirely free of prior owner markings. There are some shallow creases to the top outer tips of a portion of the text block, else fine. The dust jacket has some overall edgewear.
