About This Item

London: Faber & Faber. Very Good- in Very Good- dust jacket. 1949. 5th Impression. Hardcover. Very good apart from a little 'patching' to the top edges at front and rear covers under the dust-jacket. Red cloth boards with an attractive blue illustration of the 4 pigs to front board, and deep blue titling to the spine. In the original publishers' dust-jacket which has a little edge chipping with small loss, particularly to the top of the d/j spine (0.5 cm only) but the d/j is NOT price clipped - the original price 4s 6d is still present. The dust-jacket is now in a new protective clear - removable - bookfilm plastic cover and looks near Very Good. Internally excellent, but with a gift note in ink to the former owner on the front free endpaper, but with No other Inscriptions or Marks (except a very few small brown spots to the inner edges of the front endpapers and half-title only). 128 pp. Charmingly illustrated throughout in black/white by Alec. Overall a Very Good, Very Clean, Bright and Tight copy. The 4 Pigs are Sam, Bill, Tom and Ann. The 'Tales' = The Wolf; The Billy Goat; Sam Pig and his Fiddle; Sam Pig Seeks his Fortune; The Caravan; and The Fair. More delightful tales for the young by the author of 'Little Grey Rabbit'. See Images. ; 8vo 7.5" - 9" tall. .
