UK, Qrto HB+dw/dj,illustrated,1st edn,14-191pp [part-paginated] includes Pts 1-7 with rhymes, songs and verse(s) from Dahl's books accompanied with colour illustrations from a variety of illustrators and an Index; plus [unpaginated] half-title,thumbnail illustrated title page, Quentin Blake character illustrated Contents list/table,A Foreword by Quentin Blake,single+double-paged illustrated individual Pts separator pages. Visually the exterior appearance is more than acceptable and particularly internally,is in an exceptional condition/ state of preservation and presentation, for a book of its 15+ year-old age and nature, i.e. a child's book. It is only the minor fault described that prevents a slightly higher grading overall.Despite that it really is still an exceptional example for its cleanliness, brightness and lack of other detracting faults. The book is divided into seven sections: 1) There are Things to See and Do, (2) Best Behaviour, (3) Unlikely Creatures, (4) Poisonous Possibilities, (5) Look Who's Here, (6) All Together Now, (7) And a Few Surprises. Each section opens with three pages of illustration from Dahl's best-known and much-loved illustrator, Quentin Blake; then follow visual treats from some of the most exciting artists working in illustration today. Familiar tales such as 'Goldilocks and the Three Bears' (from Revolting Rhymes) feature alongside lesser-known or unpublished gems such as 'The Shark'. These verses are unparalleled in their verve, wit and appeal and the marvellous illustrations really do them justice, making this the perfect gift choice for Dahl fans and lovers of children's books and illustration everywhere.Featured illustrators (in alphabetical order): Russell Ayto, Peter Bailey, Quentin Blake, Geefwee Boedoe, Emma Chichester Clark, Lauren Child, Babette Cole, Alexis Deacon, Mini Grey, William Joyce, Satoshi Kitamura, John Lawrence, Neal Layton, David McKee, Helen Oxenbury, Chris Riddell, David Roberts, Tony Ross, Gerald Scarfe, Axel Scheffler, Joann Sfar, Posy Simmonds, Lane Smith, Joel Stewart, Bee Willey and Chris Wormell.
