About This Item

UK: David & Charles, 1972. Book. Near Fine. Hardcover. 1st Edition. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. From sources as far apart as New York and New Zealand, from public and private collections and from his own collection, the author has chosen over 100 pictures ( many never published before ) to illustrate the shipping and harbours of Kent, Sussex and Hampshire in the golden age of sale. There is a facsimile of a shipping insurance certificate loose in the book. There is some writing in pencil on the fep. saying '36 photos of Shoreham vessels.' The D/J shows light edge wear especially to the top of the rear panel and spine..
