About This Item
New York: Frederick A. Stokes Company, 1931. Wren (1875-1941) is a man of some mystery. He may or may not have served in the Foreign Legion, but he wrote accurately about it. His most famous work is "Beau Geste," made into a popular movie. Here Wren is presenting the story of a woman who herself may or may not have been real; a fascinating story nonetheless. This is a Very Good copy of the First American Edition. Blue cloth binding with gilt stamping of a Legionaire bugler. Clean and fresh text; 380 pages. This at one time was part of a circulating library; there are stamps to that effect on the both the front and rear free endpapers, which have been crossed out. These are the only library treatments; a previous-owner inscription on the FFEP has also been crossed out. A serviceable copy, well worth a read today. Size: 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall. First American Edition.. Decorative Cloth. Very Good/No Jacket.
