London: Eyre & Spottiswoode, 1947. Cloth. Very Good. FIRST UK EDITION. 8vo. Original black cloth, spine lettered in gilt. Pushing to spine ends, a few minor marks. In Craigie's perfect illustrated dust jacket: chips to spine ends, edgwear and creasing. Very good/ good+ A nice copy. As Dorothy Craigie's dust jacket neatly encapsulates, Caspary's novel is set in a pulp crime publishers, with Noble Barclay inspired by Bernarr Macfadden, the American magazine publisher and advocate of physical culture.
