Though XLib a nice copy of an important account of travels in Russia, from St. Petersburg on to Moscow, Astrakhan, Tiflis, Batoum, Odessa, Kiev, and Warsaw. Includes remarks on: rural economic conditions; the exile system; Nihilism; Etc. Antonio Gallenga (1810-95), was an Italian patriot who settled in London. He taught at the University College, and also was a critic, journalist and writer. He joined the London Times in 1859 and was foreign correspondent for twenty-five years.
