John Masefield (1878-1967), a notable poet (he was Poet Laureate of England for almost four decades) also wrote in fine prose, as with his retelling here the story of the most beautiful woman in the world, daughter of Zeus and Leda (with such provenance, why wouldn't she be?). This is a Fine copy of the First Edition, SIGNED by the author and LIMITED to 780 copies, with 30 copies reserved for presentation. The story was later anthologized in a different edition. Blue-green paper-covered boards with a vellum spine with gilt lettering. Absolutely clean text; 96 pages of handmade paper. A joy to hold and a delight to read. In an archival plastic protector. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Signed by Author. Limited/Numbered.. Hard Cover. Fine/No Jacket.
