LeMire Bibliography of William Morris, A-47.04 (pp. 130-31) The House of Wolfings was the first of the unnumbered 8 volumes published by the Chiswick Press, edited by S. C. Cockerell and Robert Proctor. Limited edition of 315 with 300 for sale. Large 4to (Golden quarto), original ¾ mid-blue holland backstrip with light blue paper-covered boards with printed paper label (spare label tipped in), cream-white Kelmscott handmade paper, deckled edges, 162 pages, shoulder notes and all chapter titles in black, except the first chapter which is in red. Condition is VERY GOOD- : edgewear to boards with corners rubbed open, small tears to backstrip which has faded to brown, paper label intact but creased, internally clean and tight. What a lovely book - an essential for William Morris collectors. [I have 3 of the 8 titles: The Odyssey, The House of the Wolfings, and The Story of Grettir the Strong].
