A complete story of the rise of tea and coffee drinking in England with particular reference to China tea an East African coffee plantations. Includes a history of the coffee society, drinking and serving in England from the first coffee house to the modern coffee "bar" and the history of tea in England from Queen Anne to the present. A very tight, clean, fresh, bright, unmarked volume (a faint line of toning from foldover on endpapers) else fine, in a crisp, tight, clean, dust jacket, with a couple of very minor spots of rubbing near spine ends. Very near fine in a very near fine dust jacket. A great copy of this uncommon title..
