The first edition of this 'Sunbeam' voyage account by Lady Brassey, with folding maps. The first edition of this work. A travel account of Annie Brassey narrating of a later voyage on the famous luxury yacht 'Sunbeam'. Including accounts of Madeira, Trinidad, Jamaica, Venezuela, the Bahamas, Bermudas, and the Azores. Lady Brassey is best known for her book A Voyage in the Sunbeam describing her voyage around the world. Illustrated with nine maps, two of which folding, some in colour, and numerous engravings in text. Collated, bound without map of Jamaica; a facsimile of the map was loosely inserted by a previous owner. In the original publisher's full cloth binding. Externally sound with minor shelf wear, bumping to head and tail of spine and extremities, gentle cocking forward of the spine. Internally, binding generally firm. Minor spotting to occasional leaf. Very Good

Based in the literary city of Bath, our offices are housed in the Eastern Dispensary. Built in 1845, the building originally existed as a charitable institution providing medical care. The building now houses our collection of over twenty thousand books and has five full time members of staff.
