Leiden: chez Jean Arnold Langerak, 1729. Book. Very Good. Full Leather. Nouvelle Edition. 4to. pp.xxiv, 752. Front and rear blanks present, title page printed in red and black; engraved head and tail-pieces. Contemporary mottled calf boards with a plain modern (1954) brown calf spine, corners and edges repaired at the same time; gilt lettering to the spine, binding with a little wear and rubbing. Contents clean and tight, light wear to lower corners of first few pages, generous margins. Pencil signature of Sir Eardley Holland (see note on provenance) to the front blank, dated 1957 with an accompanying pencil note 'Rebacked by Pal + Gee, 1954" A very good copy. Scarce. Referenced by Morton 6150. Provenance: Sir Eardley Holland 1879-1867, former president of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists and consulting Obstetrician and Gynaecologist to the London Hospital..
