Several illustrations are toned, a few repaired and some worn. 4to, full mottled calf, ornate spine, red leather label, rubbed, rubricated edges. Brussels: Ivan Momarte, 1613. First Edition. Scarce. Very good.<br/><br/> First edition of this remarkable work of seventeenth-century artillery land and sea in which the author also talks of various engineering issues such as the recovery of sunken ships, the fireworks (very important section devoted to pyrotechnics), construction of walkways and bridges, etc. Large parts of the treaty are dedicated to logistics activities, important paragraphs relating to the recovery of missing ships. The UFANO, Yepes died in 1613, practiced as a military engineer in the service of the Spanish army in Flanders, under General Luis Velasco.
