About This Item
Paris: Chandeigne, 2003. Paperback. [318]p., illustrated with several b&w plates in facsimile. Softbound in 8.5x6 inch matte-white laid-lined wraps printed in pale green, a lovely design choice, and enclosed in a pictorial green dust jacket. A perfect, as-new copy. Collection Magellane. Knivet shipped with a "corsaire," pirate Thomas Cavendish; one of his tribulations was to be the diver salvaging weapons from a sunken ship. For this task (two facsimile plates show different aspects of this ordeal) the diver was supplied air through a long long mask. Another job was to assist his new comrades in the massacre of Portuguese civilians.
