New York: Appleton, 1905.<br/><br/> First Edition with these illustrations, dedicated to A.B. Frost. Harris has signed the book twice, once with a presentation consisting of a 4 line poem in dialect, dated Christmas 1905, and once with his signature following the Preface. A bright copy despite condition defects.<br/><br/>
Synopsis
The dialect, lore, and flavor of black life in the nineteenth-century South is portrayed as it appeared to Georgia-born Joel Chandler Harris in Uncle Remus’s "Legends of the Old Plantation."
