Berkeley: University of California, 1941-1943. First edition.. Small stain on the spine, a bright and clean copy in very good fine condition.. Pp. (2), 401; 1 color plate by Allan Brooks, 20 full page black-and-white photo-plates, numerous text-figures. Early red cloth, lettered in gilt on the spine, (original printed gray wrappers in place), lg 8vo. This volume contains seven monographs and papers, four are on birds, two are on mammals and one is on reptiles. The two longest monographs are "The White-Crowned Sparrows (Zonotrichia leucophrys) of the Pacific Seaboard: Environment and Annual Cycle" by Barbara Blanchard (178 pages, 20 photo-plates, 30 text-figures, 1941, no. 1) and "Distribution and Variation of the Horned Larks (Otocoris alpestris) of Western North America by William H. Behle (112 pages, 13 text-figures, 1942, no. 1). Mildly ex-library from the Reading Public Museum with white call number on the spine, bookplate of Reading Museum on the front endpaper and Museum stamps on the front original wrapper of each number and on rear endpaper.
