About This Item

London: Waterlow and Sons Limited Splendid book on travelling the thames from Westminster to Oxford, not dated but appears to be late 1800s. 128 pages plus appendix with lots of information on toll charges, angling and very informative text on the places along the river, 18 pages of old adverts. 140 illustrations in text plus two pull out single colour maps, these maps are complete but have a few tears on each along some of the creases. Book is clean inside with neat previous owners name on rear of front endpaper, yellow front and rear endpapers have some discolouration around edges. Outer boards are attractive with gold and black embossed illustration, maroon cloth has many light spots where surface is lightly pitted, small split in middle of rear spine hinge 3 inches long, corners a little rubbed, spine darkened. Still a pleasing copy of a very interesting book of the Thames SEE IMAGE. DETAILED IMAGES AVAILABLE ON REQUEST.. Illustrated Cloth. Good Plus/No Jacket. 24.5 x 16 Cms. Hardcover.
