London: Thomas Nelson and Sons, 1915. Hardcover. Fine. [2], v, [1], 5-283, [1] p.: frontispiece and 7 additional leaves of plates; 18 cm. Bayntun Riviere binding: full polished crimson calf with six spine compartments; gilt-tooled title and author in the second and fourth compartments; gilt-tooled decoration in the remaining compartments; double gilt-ruled border on each board; gilt-rolled decoration on edges and turn-ins. All page edges gilt. Floral endpapers. Binder's stamp on front free endpaper verso: Bound by Bayntun (Riviere), Bath, England. An undated edition by Thomas Nelson and Sons, as is usual; this edition, however, does not include the Goldsmith biography by Sir Walter Scott found in most Nelson editions. The imprint includes Paris, and the publisher did not establish an office there until 1915. In Fine Condition: a striking binding; clean and crisp pages.
