Book plate on front pastedown. Signed. French. 408 pp. B&W incidental engravings. Volume I of III. Illustrations of Fred-Money engraved on wood by Victor Dutertre. Written in collaboration with Auguste Maquet. The sequel to The Three Musketeers, the novel is set in the Fronde and England near the end of the English Civil War as the musketeers attempt to protect Charles I and young Louis XIV.

Synopsis

Twenty Years After is a novel by Alexandre Dumas, père. This sequel to The Three Musketeers and a book of the so-called D'Artagnan Romances (the third and last book being The Vicomte de Bragelonne, including the famous volume, Man in the Iron Mask) was serialized from January to August, 1845.
