Eighth edition, with upwards of 850 woodcuts, and 9 copper plates, thin 4to, pp. iv, 80; title page preceded by a tipped-in advert. leaf for a similar work in German; original brown cloth stamped in gilt on the upper cover; corners worn, neatly rebacked with the old spine laid down; all else very good and sound. A picture dictionary, profusely illustrated, arranged by subjects, with familiar objects pictured in their respective settings, with French and English terminologies. The earliest edition listed in OCLC is 1855, with an 11th edition having been reached by 1883.
