Graham Reed spent a year with the Royal Signal Corps "on the North West Frontier of India at the close of World War II." In this book he provides "(s)ome humorous memories of a year in Razmak, a fort on the North West Frontier of India, just prior to Independence and the cessation of a particular way of life under the British Raj. The work consists of a number of sketches, arranged chronologically and concerning the same group of characters and the ongoing misadventures of the writer. They revolve around some constant themes - the unusual way of life (mountain warfare with a mounted unit of the regular Indian Army), the writer's misunderstandings, cross-cultural differences, the Indian Army's concept of regimental honour, etc." Interior - first 26 pages have soft crease down page near spine, otherwise clean and tight with no other ownership marks.
