About This Item
Boston: Boston Public Library, 1976. 8vo, card covers. (2), 35, (3) pages. Fine. An unusual production, with the introduction noting that Arnold's "essay is crotchety, at best, to the point of perverseness, and one might well question the wisdom of giving it wider currency by here reprinting it." The essay was originally published in 1901 and is mainly notable for being about the only published opinion of someone who doesn't think much of the gold "Washington before Boston" Comitia Americana medal in the holdings of the Boston Public Library.
