Wood-engraved frontispiece, 19 wood-engraved plates and folding hand-colored map of "River Systems of Maine" by Colton. The author was Superintendent of the Hydrographic Survey of Maine. Report offers geographical, topographical, and meteorological conditions of Maine; information on the principal river systems of Maine; secondary or seaboard systems of Maine, etc. The plates, which include views of waterfalls and dams in Rumford, Augusta, Baldwin, Brunswick, East Machias, Ellsworth, Skowhegan, etc. were engraved after drawings and sketches by George P. Morse. 16 1/2 x 14" color map entitled, "River System of Maine to Illustrate 'Well's water power of Maine.'" Map prepared by G.W. & C.B. Colton & Co. Light wear to corners of cover boards else very good.
