Boston & Springfield, Mass.: Taber - Prang, 1899 Very uncommon. Original printing in stiff color illustrated wrappers. 28 illustrated pages loaded with drawings and text descriptions. NOTE: I knew his grand daughter who lived in the next town over and she told me a great deal about this author. He used to do song-bird demonstrations at local elementary schools where he would whistle the bird notes while pulling a clothesline contraption loaded with the notes through the classroom. The kids would see the notes as well as hear them and get to whistle along. She said it was much loved by all. An interesting and quite prolific man, writing and illustrating dozens of books on birds, flowers, games, plants, trees, etc...
