London: Elliot Stock, 1893. Book. Very Good. Cloth. First Thus. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. Gray cloth with black lettering /design to front and spine. First Elliot Stock after the original of 1869. This copy is VG. No DJ. Exterior is rich and clean. Lettering is bright. Spine is moderately sunned . Spine ends and tips modestly crimped. Inside has neat PO signature dated 1894 at top of title page, small other PO blind stamp at bottom. Faded gilt top page edges. Other edges deckled. Text is unmarked, firmly bound with minimal toning. Front fold out frontispiece. One page ad at rear. Very Nice. NOT the revised /2nd edition, which added US sayings. .
