Our history will start with the first residents, the Indians, who were few by the time the white men came - explorers and fur traders who used the river as a trade route - the gold rush that soon petered out - the famous apple orchards which lost their fame to the Okanagan valley - the loggers and Celgar who brought stability to our area, and last, but not least, 'Expropriation'.
