Paperback small trade, good condition, black & white photos, colour photos pastedowns, light toning pages, light foxing covers, light stain bottom corner front cover, some edgewear corners. 144 pp. This is the story of the Norwegian shipping company, Wilhelm Wilhelmsen. The founder of the firm, Morten Wilhelm Wilhelmsen, was born at Tonsberg on the 12th July, 1839, the son of Abraham Wilhelmsen, a master tanner. In 1863 Wilh. Wilhelmsen, as he now called himself, married Catharina, daughter of Fred. Sev. Lorentzen, a doctor, who also had interest in, and was part-owner of, several sailing ships. Fleet list notes: The ships histories are divided into three sections dealing, respectively, with Sailing Ships, Steamships and Turbine and Motorships, and the histories are in chronological order.
