This lovely book is Volume 2 of a set of 16 published as the Connoisseurs' Edition of the Works of Samuel Johnson of which this is #29 of only 150 copies. Some rubbing and scuffing to boards and bumps to corners. Owner's bookplate on FEP and owner's stamp on FFEP. Hinges are tight and pages bright and clean. Deckled edge pages and original cream-colored silk bookmark attached that has slightly darkened the pages it sits between. The Rambler was a series of essays that Dr. Johnson published over time commenting on various subjects of interest to his reading audience. Volume 1 of The Rambler in this publication is also for sale on the Town Books site.
