Here are eight volumes from the collected works of Thomas Carlyle, each in a uniform binding: 1. The French Revolution (Complete in three volumes). V1: The Bastille, V2: The Constitution, V3: The Guillotine. All in fairly good condition, previous owner's inscription to v1 dated 1881. Ffep missing from v3. 2. Past and Present. Good condition, inscribed by previous owner to title page (1894). 3. On heroes, Hero-Worship and the Heroic in History. Undated, good condition. 4. The Life of Frederich Schiller: Comprehending an Examination of his Words (with supplement of 1872). Good condition. 5. The Life of John Sterling. Good condition. 6. Critical and Miscellaneous Essays (vol 5 only of 8). Good condition. Condition: All eight books are in good readable condition, with some light tanning and bumping.
