Japan: Gunma Kenritsu Kindai Bijutsukan, 1985. This is a fine softcover copy with no wear at all. Completely clean inside and out. Text completely in JAPANESE. This catalog was prepared to accompany the exhibition at the Mie Prefectural Museum in 1985. Kaoru Yamaguchi (1907-1968) was born in Gunma Prefecture and studied oil painting at Tokyo University of Arts. He then went to Paris and studied there for three years. After returning from Paris, he and his friends formed "Shin-Jidai-Youga-ten", "Jiyu-Bijutsuka-Kyoukai" and "Modern Art Kyoukai". Also he took up teaching at Tokyo University of Arts. Checklist with 127 works catalogued. Chronology. Page of black & white photographs of the artist's different signatures (15 photos). Pages of black & white vintage photos of the artist and family, colleagues, etc. 60 color plates + 68 black & white plates + several pages of photographs of prints and sculptures. Scarce. 11" high X 8" wide, 166 pages. This book will be securely wrapped and packed in a sturdy box and shipped with tracking. . Soft Cover. Fine.
