Interesting biography of a lesser known Confederate commander who saw significant action in first the Western theater at Fort Donelson, Shiloh (where he was wounded), and Perryville and Chickamauga (leading the assault on the Union center in both battles). Transferred East, he commanded the section of trenches blown up in the Battle of the Crater, and final actions at Five Forks and Sayler's Creek. Book Condition : Good; no text marks; light bumping to spine ends; several small stains to text block. Dust Jacket Condition : Good; shelf wear to edges; small tears at spine ends; waviness to front (humidity exposure?)..
