About This Item

London: Macmillan, 1988. First Edition. Hardcover. Very Good/Dust Jacket Included. London, Macmillan, 1988. Octavo, xviii, 318 pages plus 19 full-page plates. Papered boards slightly rubbed; top edge very slightly marked; an excellent copy with the dustwrapper a little scuffed and unevenly sunned. '"Yeats Annual" is the established research-level publication for current thought and documentation upon the life and work of "the greatest poet in the English tongue of this century" ... The focus in this sixth number is on Yeats at work on various manuscripts, and on his tours of America. Two of his poems are published from manuscript for the first time.' The longest of the eight major articles publishes for the first time the complete surviving archive of letters to Yeats from Olivia Shakespear, edited by John Harwood (at the time on the staff at Flinders University in South Australia).
