The first Polish underground comic, the story of the first 500 days of Solidarity, the first independent trade union in the Soviet Bloc.

It was created by Wojciech Starzynski, Andrzej Witwicki written by Janowi Markowi Owsinskiemu and drawn by Jacek Fedorowicz. The comic became very popular in Poland and also outside the country and had several reissues and reprints already in the year of the first edition. It was officially published only in 1989. The present copy is a reissue of the first edition from 1984, the price is not printed on cover or on inner rear cover (but indicated in ink), and with the so-called "21 demands of MKS - Inter-Factory Strike Committee" (21 postulatow MKS) and the program of the Solidarity printed on inner panels.

The action of the comics begins on August 7, 1980, with the dismissal of Anna Walentynowicz, a worker of the Lenin Shipyard in Gdansk for participation in the illegal trade union. This ignited a strike at the shipyard, and set off a wave of strikes in Poland, which led to the establishment of "Solidarnosci" (Solidarity), the first independent trade union in the Soviet Bloc which was not controlled by a communist party and later it had a crucial role in the peaceful transition of the communist Poland into the parliamentary democracy. The co-founder and leader of the movement was Lech Walesa, who won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1983 and served as the first popularly elected President of Poland from 1990 to 1995.
