Irma Stern (1894-1966) is acknowledged as a major painter and one of South Africa's most important pioneer artists. Since she often painted African women, much of the establishment at the time disregarded her importance. Bound in gray cloth lettered in silver. A fine copy in fine pictorial dust jacket.
