Englewood Cliffs, NJ Prentice-Hall, Inc. 1971. Signed and Inscribed by Hickel on the front-free endpaper: To Floren and Cecil Havell, Wally Hickel. First edition / First printing. White cloth. Small triangular tape stain at the top of the front pastedown, completely covered by dust jacket flap, else fine in about fine dust jacket. A tight clean copy. Interior Secretary Hickel was fired by Nixon after 22 months in office, because of his opposition to oil exploration on government lands, including National Parks. Former Governor of Alaska and a pioneer of the environmental movement.
