About This Item

New York: Avukah, American Student Zionist Federation, 1937. Pamphlet. 7p. staplebound pamphlet, minor toning and handling. The author traveled on behalf of the Independent Labour Party to Palestine, and prepared this report for a radio broadcast on the Palestine Broadcasting Service. He was asked to delete portions of it by the British colonial administration, and after his refusal, the broadcast was canceled. The text here was originally intended as the script for the broadcast. The rear cover asks "Why was it censored?" It states that the author's assertion of the possibilities of Arab-Jewish friendship, his criticism of landowners, and his endorsement of Jewish immigration all ran counter to British policy.
