Born in New York City, she wrote, under the name of "Elizabeth Wetherell," thirty novels, many of which went into multiple editions. Constitution Island is the site of the Warner House, where the writers Anna and Susan Warner, lived. Anna Warner is known for the hymn 'Jesus Loves Me' written in 1860. The sisters donated Constitution Island to West Point in 1908, and taught Bible classes to West Point cadets for forty years. 8vo, 410pp, Original brown gilt stamped cloth boards with blind stamped publishers crest, Publishers advertisements at end papers with first volume advertising Queechy and the 16th edition of Wide Wide World.
