Quality Books, Good Prices, Great Service. What you look for in an Antiquarian Book Dealer. Over twenty five years as a Merchant, and forty five years as a Collector. We have been purveyors of fine books since 1994. Thousands of readers and collectors have browsed our store in the Hudson River Valley, nestled between the foot of the Catskills and the head of the Shawangunk Ridge in beautiful Rosendale NY. We closed our doors, after 5 years on Main Street, to devote more time to civic endeavors and community projects. We couldn't let go of our true love though, books. So we continue to do what we enjoy. Our specialty is locating those "impossible to find" books that you loved as a child or haven't seen in years. We will also appraise your collection, from a single volume to an entire library. Contact us for details. In the meantime, browse and have fun, and rest assured, you are getting your books from the most professional Antiquarian book dealer on the net. Thanks for looking! Patrick and Ann

Complete Traveller Antiquarian Bookstore
Westport, Connecticut, United States
The Complete Traveller Antiquarian Bookstore grew out of The Complete Traveller Bookstore, the first travel bookstore in the United States. Owners Harriet and Arnold Greenberg were (and are) travel writers and Arnold, a life-long collector of antiquarian books. Many customers have combined their purchases of new guidebooks with editions of older classics. While the largest number of titles in the Antiquarian Bookstore are travel related, our collections include many first editions of fiction and literature, and even some unusual children's books. Those of you who have visited our store have seen one of the country's premier collections of authentic Baedekers. The small red-covered books are considered the first modern travel guides and are treasured for their great historic detail and fold out maps throughout. From the rare "Indien" to the prosaic "Central Italy," we have them all. We are proud of our rapidly expanding collection of rare titles dealing with the history, culture, peoples and communities of New York City and New York State. Other specialties include: The A&C Black Twenty Shilling series--books to far-flung destinations that are filled with scores of colorful illustrations. And, the state and city guides of the American Guide Series, a depression-era project of the Works Progress Administration (WPA) and written by many who later became renowned.

The whole family loves books and we want every customer to be as happy with a book as we were. If your not satisfied with your purchase, or simply find out that it was not the book you were looking for, please contact me and I will get back to you as soon as possible with directions on how to return the book. Please keep in mind that these are used books, read by the family...unless it was really horrible. I try to describe the book details and flaws as best as possible but if you have any questions just contact me. Selling these books is only fun for me. I work a real full time job so it may take a day or two for me to reply depending on your request. Delivery confirmation and insurance are available upon request on all US packages. I accept PayPal, Personal Checks and Money Orders. Thank you so much for buying this book, I hope you enjoy it as much as one of my family members did...Oh, and if you buy one of grandma's books be aware that it might initially have a hint of "eau de mothball" until it acclimates to your home. She loves her mothballs!

When we first opened, our small size led us to develop habits of rigorous selectively that have not left us now that we have grown from two rooms to three; we still look for the most interesting books in the best possible condition. A few of our areas of special interest are quite extensive. Childrens illustrated books occupy the better part of our second room, with older collectibles on one side and more recent non-collectibles on the other; adults browse one side, children the other. Our art and photography sections are extensive, filling four large bookcases in the front room, and are also distributed on shelves beside and behind the front counter. Additionally, our interest in music has led us to develop a music section characterized by an abundance of sheet music, songbooks, and books relating to most areas of music from classical to folk to jazz. And of course, many other sections, such as literature, poetry, history, philosophy, metaphysical, and much more. We are, therefore, a small general shop of about 10,000 volumes with some well-developed specialties. Hours: We are open every day from 12:00 to 5:00.
