New York: Little Brown, 1914. Reprinted 1926 . Hardcover. Very Good/Poor. The interior of the book is crisp and clean. There is a gift inscription (Easter 1927) but no other marks. The illustrated covers are fresh, with light wear at at tips and corners, and shallow bumps at the top and bottom of the spine. The dust jacket is in poor condition, with moderate wear and handling overall, but the paper is missing on the bottom half of the spine. The damage is not very obvious at first glance because the jacket is now in a a protective cover whose white backing corresponds closely to that of the spine. A closer look, of course, shows the problem clearly.

London: Ramboro Books. Hardcover. Very Good/No Jacket. This is a three page board book, each page features an animal with large "googly eyes" which move and glow in the dark." The pages are clean and bright. The googly eyes still move and glow. The book has some light edgewear and bumps. The covers are bright and show few signs of use. The red tape binding of the spine is bright with light wear to the top and bottom. Please see the attached scan.

Moscow: Raduga Publishers. Hardcover. Very Good. Yevgeny Charushin, Dorian Rotenberg, Alexei Laptev. This is a large-format picture book containing three separate stories about animals for young readers. The title on the cover is "Baby Animals". The interior of the book is in excellent condition, showing no marks or wear. The glossy laminated covers look new with just a hint of wear at the top and bottom of the spine. A lovely copy. London: Hamish Hamilton, 1968. Hardcover. Very Good -/No Jacket. This book is in slightly less than very good condition. The interior is clean, with no marks or wear, but the paper has tanned, and there is a deep clip on the front free end paper (presumably to remove a former owner's name). The laminated cover is bright, with light wear only to edges and corners.

New York: Grosset & Dunlap. Hardcover. Very Good/Good. 7.5 x 5. The interior of the book is crisp and clean, with an inscription on the free front and fixed end papers showing that it was previously owned by a public school. The brown tweed decorative covers are also bright and clean, showing just a bit of edgewear and bumps to the top and bottom of the spine. The dust jacket shows overall light edgewear to front and back panel, but also has a large piece (1" x 1") missing from the top of the spine. Still looks good in its protective plastic cover. Synopsis: "Three complete stories for the beginning reader: Sara's Lucky Harvest, by Helen D. Olds; Milkman Freddy, by Elizabeth Helfman; and Tommy and the Orange-Lemon Tree, by Enid Johnson. Artia, 1989. First Edition . Hardcover. Very Good. This is a board book (12 p.) with Manasek's wonderful colour illustrations of forest birds and animals on each page. The book is in very good condition, with light wear to the laminate covers and shallow bumps at edges.

London & Glasgow: Blackie & Son. Hardcover. Good/No Jacket. There is no publication date given, but the book's art work and design suggests the 1930s or 40s. The interior of the book is clean and tight, with occasional signs of previous use. There are 25 full-page colour plates as well as smaller black and white illustrations scattered throughout the text. The illustrated covers are still bright, but have visible wear and rubbing along all edges. The cloth spine is intact, again with wear/rubs at the top and bottom. Synopsis: The book contains a series of activities and adventures experienced by Dicky, Mary and Jill when they go to visit Grandpa on his farm.

The bright yellow cloth covers are also in very good condition, with minimal wear at tips and corners, and some colour darkening. The dust jacket is not price-clipped. It shows very little edge wear, but the spine colour has faded. The attached scans give a better idea of condition. The jacket is now in a protective mylar cover. Synopsis: "Freddy the pig and some barnyard friends take off for Mars in Mr. Bean's space ship, but things go awry when Mrs. Peppercorn fiddles with the controls and they wind up in a stranger place than they ever imagined.

The book and dust jacket are both in excellent condition. The pages are crisp and clean, and the blue cloth covers are fresh. The jacket is price-clipped, but is othewise fine. The jacket is now in a protective mylar cover.

Amsterdam: Mulder & Zoon N. V.. Hardcover. Good +/No Jacket. The inerior of the book is clean and complete. The paper has darkened slightly, and there is an unattractive inked out spot on the front free end paper. The illustrated cover is bright, with light wear and handling, and corner rubs which have exposed the underlying cardboard. Given these problems with condition, this book should be thought of as a decent reading copy to share with a child,

London: Heinmann, 1976. First Edition . Hardcover. Very Good/Very Good +. 9.5 x 6.25. The interior of the book is crisp and clean, with only a neat date stamp (1981) and a small sticker ghost on the free front end paper. The blue cloth boards are clean and fresh, and the gold lettering is bright. There is only a suggestion of wear to the edges of the covers. The DJ is price-clipped, but is in excellent condition, and looks wonderful in its protective plastic cover. Synopsis: a collection of British folk tales retold in a lively, amusing, style for young readers.

The laminated pictorial covers are bright, with next to no wear. A lovely copy. Synopsis: "Henrietta, you must store up food for the winter, or you will have nothing to eat." Sound advice from more experienced woodland animals, but Henrietta's efforts are all in vain. The days get colder and still the cupboard is bare. Don't worry, though, there is a happy surprise ending.
