(USA) Fourth Edition There are some cooking spots to the covers, a small dark spot to the top of the last few leaves, pages generally clean, the top and bottom 1/2" of the spine pape is chipped off, and the split to the spine has been repaired, Fair only used copy. Yellow and black plaid design wraps, 144pp, index. A few colour plates, but mostly B&W photos. This is a venerable old cookbook which appeared in 1933 with probably over 300 recipes from Swans Down Angel Food Cake to Cream Scones. There is an initial section of 23 basic recipes complete with step-by-step recipes followed by an excellent collection of recipes for cakes, cookies, pastries, biscuits, muffins and party foods. The book starts off with recipes for breads, and economical dishes for breakfast; there is a substantial number of recipes for cakes, puddings, dessert dishers, ice creams, pastry, jellies, sauces. Other chapters include meat, poultry, vegetables with special chapters on food for the sick and infants, carving, simple remedies.
