Calgary AB: American Woman's Club of Calgary, 1923. (CAD) There are recipes written in pencil along with recipes clipped from newspapers, to the blank pages to the back of the book, page 159/ 160 is torn and was at some point repaired with clear tape, now yellowed, very light soiling to covers, red pen scribble to the back cover, small tear to the base of the spine at the rear spine gutter, about Good used copy; no Dust jacket as published. 23 x 15cm, light putty cloth hardcover with blue lettering and bird, ads to pastedowns, 1-- 240 page, then [10[ blank pages for notes. Local advertisements, some illustrated. The Club was founded in 1912; Their first cookbook was published in 1913, a paper covered volume that sold for 25 cents. In 1923-24 a cook book was publsihed by the Domestic Science Department which was so successful that the sale of the cookbooks raised sufficinet funds to purchase the club house and furnish it. I believe this is that edition although there is no date to this book. Uncommon. (1.5 JM HOQ 103/b2. Hardcover. Good/No Jacket. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
