A calendar advertising premium for Glenwood Ranges, whose motto was "Make Cooking Easy." The Weir Stove Co. of Taunton, Mass. made cast iron, coal-burning stoves called Glenwood Ranges starting in the 1870s. The company was known for good worker relations and pay, craftsmanship and philanthropy. The calendar was compliments of T.F. Foss & Sons, a Portland, Maine furniture store.

A lovely look at the towns of Camden and Rockport, Maine by Lew Dietz (1906-1997), a writer and journalist based in Maine. Dietz's most notable book, A Seal Called Andre, recalls the true-life story of an orphaned seal who became a popular attraction in the Rockport harbor. The reproduced wood-engraved illustrations by Carroll Thayer Berry (1886-1978) add to the charm of the narrative.

The Camden Herald newspaper is a mid-coast Maine, Knox County paper founded in 1869. This Extra reports on the Legislature includes legislation passed relating to: attorneys, banks, cemeteries, coroners, fishing, highways, industry (lime), insane hospitals, insurance, judgements, land, licenses, liquor, manufacturing, pensions of soldiers and seamen, railroads, salaries, schools, tax collection, and wildlife preservation.

A nicely bound and scarce small book for worship, containing the Roman Catholic hymns of Saint Suplice, Sulpitius the Pious, who was a 6th century French bishop of Bourges. Saint Roch (c. 1348-1376/79), was a French patron saint of dogs, invalids, of the falsely accused, and bachelors, who is often called upon to prevent cholera and other infectious diseases. Also included are principal Latin chants.

A cookbook with recipes collected from Cape Cod, including "families of sea captains," "managers of popular tea rooms," "church suppers," the "motoring and cottage-holding summer residents," and the "sophisticates." Simple and interesting recipes with small delightful illustrations of the landscape.

The Capitol, 1845. 6 ½" x 8 ¼"; hand-drawn Capitol building within a border, 4 1/8" x 5 ½"; pencil drawing, signed in script with the date; light age-toning of paper and some smudging of pencil; near fine. Found in Maine, this small hand-drawing is presumably by a school-girl or young woman who has signed her name as Hannah. The sketch of the U.S. Capitol building shows the reconstruction work after it was burned by the British in 1812. The drawing shows the center section of the building with the front stairs and the Rotunda, both features added during the 1819 reconstruction. Two flags fly atop the building; a rider on horseback and an outline of three strolling people are added to the scene.

Charles Dana Gibson (1867-1944) was best known as the author of the Gibson Girl in the late 19th and at the start of the 20th century. The drawings of these beautiful, active, and seemingly independent women first graced the pages of popular magazines such as Life Magazine, Collier's, Scribner's, and Harper's Weekly, and later were published as collections in books. The photograph of the author and artist is taken in a sitting room setting, with two long couches in the background flanking a fireplace. A scarce and interesting printed catalog of automobile parts with their manufacturer's numbers and retail prices, supplies for the care of autos, and clothing accessories for the drivers. The inside front wrapper advertises "Some of the High Grade Tools we carry in Stock" and the rear inside wrapper advertises that "We carry a full stock of the following standard lines." A historical look at the mechanical parts for early 20th-century motorized vehicles and necessary accessories for their drivers.
