The book block is solid and secure. 8vo. [xv; 684 pages; 2 blanks] A collection of twenty-two of Blackwood's ghost stories printed between 1906 and 1910, printed here in chronological sequence, with an introspective introduction by the author.

Light toning to pages and otherwise volume is in fine condition; binding is tight and square and boards are fine. Unclipped jacket has light rubbing to corners and head of spine; gilt is rubbed on letter 'e' in the first word of front panel; inside jacket has toning. A very scarce edition, in very collectible condition.

Pages are clean, unmarked, bright, tightly bound and sharp cornered. Board and spine corners are slightly rubbed. Scarce, Out Of Print, Book. The novel inspired a film of the same name directed in 1926 by Rex Ingram. "Set in Bohemian Paris at the turn of the 20th century, this sinister novel was inspired by the notorious black magician, Aleister Crowley, and portrays Parisian cafe society." .
