New York: Pantheon Books, 1968. First US Edition Thus/Second Printing. Hardcover. Good/Good. The Second Edition of this classic work in green linen boards and black spine cloth with gilt to type and design motifs. Sharp corners, clean interior and tight binding. Corner of ffep clipped off, otherwise Near Fine. Price-clipped jacket has chipping and short tears/nicks mostly at spine ends and top corners. Wear to spine and flap creases as well as edges. Small puncture to rear spine crease. Spine faded. Scarce in jacket.
Synopsis
Campbell discusses his theory of the mythological structure of the journey of the archetypal hero found in world myths. This work was an inspiration behind Star Wars and 2001, as well as many other modern works.
