Reseda, CA: Mojave Books, 1982. Hardcover. 8vo. Green cloth with gilt lettering, pictorial dust jacket. xiii, 151pp. Illustrations. Near fine/very good. Jacket rather edgeworn; rear endpaper a bit age toned. A tight, attractive first edition of this poetry collection about Native Americans, boldly signed and inscribed by the author on the front flyleaf: "2/29/84 / To Lilly Tolpo, / with very special regards, / Donna Duesel de la Torriente," with her personal business card affixed beneath. (Lily Tolpo, 1917-2016, is a part Native American sculptor and wife of noted sculptor/painter Carl Tolpo, 1901-76). Tipped to the front pastedown is an 8½" X 11" single sheet typed press release, at the bottom of which de la Torriente pens a couple of lines. Laid in loose is a leaflet for this book and a second typed biographical sheet about her.
