About This Item
(Cape Town, Tafelberg, 1974). 8vo; original brown boards; pictorial dustwrapper; pp. (vi) +120. Dustwrapper very slightly rubbed; previous owner's discreet hand-stamp on front free endpaper. Very good condition. "In South Africa White and Black communities live next to each other and White and Black work together in workshops, offices and private houses. In order to have worth-while human contacts, it is necessary for Whites to sense the attitude of the various Black groups and to study their behaviour and philosophy of life. Only by knowing your neighbour well, can one communicate with him in meaningful terms.
Alan S. Tiley is a well-known Johannesburg marketing and advertising expert who has many years of practical experience with the Black market. Although he writes from a commercial point of view, the author makes it obvious that new approaches cannot be made in isolation. Bridging the communication gap in one field will benefit all contacts between Blacks and Whites in every respect. This book heralds a new approach which will have wide repercussions, not only in commerce, but in all aspects of life." .
