Columbus, OH: Ohio State University, 1931. Paperback. 41 ll., illustrations, diagrams, wraps. 10.75 x 8.5 in. Edges rubbed and covers slightly toned around edges. Printed rectos only. A mimeographed manual for the construction of historically accurate model galleys for enthusiastic hobbyists. Includes designs for "Egyptian, Roman, Viking, Moorish, French, and Chinese" varieties. The author was a student at a school whose curriculum was based on the pedagogy of William Warner who has supplied an introductory text. Warner was an advocate of Industrial Arts education that combined craft and industrial production. He called his ideal learning environment "laboratories of industry," a forerunner of today's "makerspaces.".
