Torino: Societa Editrice Internazionale, 1991. Hardcover. Unpaginated preliminaries, 106p., comix panels in color throughout the item (emphasis on character of Columbus, structure of caravels), presswork on semi-glazed alkaline paperstock hardbound in 11.5x9 inch laminated pictorial boards. Text in Italian. Endsheets provide maps of the transatlantic voyage, and of several Caribbean islands. Inscribed and signed on the titlepage by author as "Luisa Bisso Bozzolli 1992". Nicely-done book in as-new condition: perfectly sound, clean and unmarked.

Fairfax Ca: Printed by Arlen & Clara Philpott [also ascribed to Grabhorn-Hoyem] for The Book Club of California, 1977. Hardcover. 26p., title page decorated with an invented armorial shield in four colors and gilt, initial text letter in red, six small line illustrations, one of 400 copies, signed by illustrator Angelo at the colophon. Hardbound in laid-lined grey-green paper over 8.5x5.5 inch boards, spine-titled gilt, is faintly sunned at spine, a very good copy. Publication No. 155. FYI, the clue that the Grabhorn-Hoyem firm involved themselves with presswork comes from a note laid into another copy we have seen.

Cambridge: Published by the Hakluyt Society at the CUP, 1968. Hardcover. x, 170p., illustrations and plentiful maps, hardbound in Hakluyt's signature blue cloth boards gilt & blind and enclosed in the dust jacket. A handsome book in perfectly sound, clean and unmarked condition. The dust jacket has a mildly toned spine panel and a touch of top edge wear: very good copy. Laid in is a Society pamphlet with 1) text of talk by Boxer on this selection, and 2) annual report and accounts for 1978 [sic, not '68]. Second series no. CXXXII.

Columbus, OH: Ohio State University, 1931. Paperback. 41 ll., illustrations, diagrams, wraps. 10.75 x 8.5 in. Edges rubbed and covers slightly toned around edges. Printed rectos only. A mimeographed manual for the construction of historically accurate model galleys for enthusiastic hobbyists. Includes designs for "Egyptian, Roman, Viking, Moorish, French, and Chinese" varieties. The author was a student at a school whose curriculum was based on the pedagogy of William Warner who has supplied an introductory text. Warner was an advocate of Industrial Arts education that combined craft and industrial production. He called his ideal learning environment "laboratories of industry," a forerunner of today's "makerspaces.".

[Sacramento]: California Transportation Commission, 1990. Paperback. 28p. printed recto-only, 8.5x11 inches, illustrated with maps and tables, very good report in stapled pictorial covers.

London: John Murray, 1879. 40p., once sewn, now held in place (tenuously) by stab-hole tabs. Complete and, as of this writing, handleable and in order. Softbound in 8.5x5.5 inch plain printed wraps, the upper cover has collected marginal dust and a small smear, lower cover sheet the same but less so.

Baltimore: Project Liberty Ship, 2004. Magazine. 18p., coated paperstock throughout with scattered b&w photoillustration; slick magazine format, 11x8.5 inch glossy photo-decorated wraps. Has slight external crimping and faint small splash stains, a good copy. In this issue : Support HR 3729; Come Celebrate Liberty Week; How Not to Load Cargo; Collision at Sea (the Pinckney Henderson with tanker Senior); letters; obits (these extensive).

Barcelona: Imprenta de Mariano Galve, 1915. Magazine. Three issues of the Spanish language maritime magazine from 1915. Issues present are Año 1 Numero 1 (1st de Febrero de 1915), 2 (16 de Diciembre de 1915) and 3 (1 de Marzo de 1915), presumably both 2 and 3 are mis-numbered. Various pagination, 8.75x13 inches, self wraps secured by folding, profusely illustrated with black and white photos and drawings of boats, Numbers 1 and 3 with foxed wraps, Number 1 with chipped and silverfished front wrap and foxing throughout else generally good condition. Text in Spanish. Pascual was a captain of the merchant marines, founder of a trade union association of sailors, president of a shipyard, and founder of a number of maritime companies. "Marina" covers the maritime industry, the Navy, and related issues, such as the building of the Suez Canal. Only 1 in OCLC as of 2/2022.

Honolulu: Bernice P. Bishop Museum, 1938. Paperback. v, 291p., softbound first edition, illustrated with line maps, profuse sketches and diagrams in-text. Presswork on heavy alkaline paperstock, making for a rather heavy paperback. A very good copy with trivial corner-tip turnings. Find ownership stamps of Frank M. LeBar, another ethnologist. As stated, very good condition: sound, clean, otherwise unmarked, and pleasant to hold. Bishop Museum publication no. 200.

New York: McGraw-Hill Book Company Inc, 1949. Hardcover. 22[ads], 260p., glossy paperstock throughout with profuse b&w photoillustrations and captioning, very much in the "Jane's All the World's" format. Hardbound 12x10 inch blue buckram boards gilt; somewhat edgeworn with tiny tufts of fray at corner-tips, hinges slightly weak, old ownership on the pastedown datelined 1950, no other markings within. No dj. A good copy. Editor touts new feature, a list of ships "building and completed" during 12 months prior to March '49. Apologizes that this year the "funnel section" is omitted. Notes that "one of the most arduous sections of the book to prepare was that devoted to war losses of the world's merchant shipping. It was decided not to include German and Japanese losses in this edition as the list was so long.

Jackson, MS: Mississippi Dept. of Archives and History, 2001. pp. 65-160, wraps, TOC page has rejection stamp from Tozzer Library at Harvard. Includes substantial articles on the relocation of the Back Bay Biloxi shipwreck and the discovery of the wreck of the coastal steamer Josephine, as well as an overview of underwater archeology along the Lower Pearl River in Mississippi and Louisiana.
