London: Printed By MacDonald and Son, for A. Whellier. Good with no dust jacket. 1812. First Edition Thus. Leather bound. Full Leather Boards, with red title label lettered in gilt. 4to - over 8" - 10" Tall. "Embellished with portraits. Added to which is a Continuation from the death of George the Second to the Celebration of the Jubilee of His Majesty George The Third". NO Date shown, circa 1811/1812. Undated, but George 3rd's Jubillee was 1809 and the last paragraph of the text mentions 1811. Boards sound, but somewhat scruffy, with surface wear and the leather of the corners rubbed through to the board. Part of both the front and rear hinges splitting, but all hinges holding. Page fore-edges browned with age. Internally 796 pp. Endpapers (with marks, an old ink name and date - 1824. The same owner has also written the same, in large, on the blank reverse of one of the later portraits) , Frontispiece (another owner's name in old ink on the reverse) , Title page (with an old name written on the title page and two name stamps, both to the top half of the Title page) , and 'Address to the Reader', are all stained to about a third across the pages, this remains but diminishes to nothing to about page 75 + and the last 20 pages have some light staining to the inner gutters. The remaining pages have some light scattered foxing, etc, but are generally Very Clean for it's age. 2 folding maps (one of England and Wales and one of Ireland - very clean) Plus 30 full page portrait engravings (with some edge browning) , and frontispiece (No plate list). There is a Large tear with loss to the outer blank border of the portrait frontispice. This book is overweight and very heavy and will require extra postage for international customers depending on your location. Heavy - Weighs 2.2kg. See Images. ; Thick Small 4to 9" - 11" tall .
